How Equal AI works

1. Is Equal AI a caller ID app?
Equal AI isn’t just a caller ID app - it’s an AI assistant. It answers calls on your behalf, engages in conversations with callers, understands the purpose of the call, and provides you with clear, detailed summaries of the call.
2. Does Equal AI block calls or talk to callers?
Equal AI doesn't block calls - it answers and responds to every caller on your behalf. Using the call's context and your custom preferences, it intelligently routes calls that matter to you while managing the rest so you stay focused.
3. Can I join a call while the AI is talking?
Yes, you can take over a call at any time while the assistant is handling it. This gives you full control, allowing you to join the conversation instantly. 

Steps to take over a call:

Open the Home Screen → Go to the Caller Profile → Tap on “Take Over” (available at the top right of the screen).

The call will be immediately transferred to you.
4. Will my phone ring for unknown calls?
AI Assistant handles unknown calls on your behalf, displays the caller's intent on green card and notifies you with the call's purpose before connecting.
5. Can I see who is calling before the AI answers?
Equal AI answers unknown calls instantly on your behalf. You can monitor the conversation in real time through the callers conversation screen and take over the call at any time if needed.
6. Does Equal AI work only for unknown numbers?
Yes, currently Equal AI handles calls only from unknown numbers. Calls from the contacts that are saved on your device will ring on your phone as usual.

Equal AI will soon handle known calls for you too. Watch the space for updates on the same. 
7. What is the Green Card and why does it appear over the screen when a call comes?
Equal AI displays caller details using a green card , allowing you to quickly identify who is calling and what is the purpose of the call . This helps you make an informed decision about whether they want to answer the call or let the AI Assistant handle it.
8. When will I see a green card?
When an unknown caller rings, a green card pops up with caller details, helping you quickly decide if you want to take the call.
9. Where should I check the details after a call is handled by an AI Assistant?
All call-related details can be accessed from the Caller Screen.

Steps:

Open the Home Screen → Go to the Caller Screen.

Here, you can view the call summary, call recording, and full conversation for each handled call.
10. Can I monitor a call while it's being handled by AI Assistant?
Yes, you can monitor ongoing calls with real-time live transcriptions directly from the caller’s conversation screen.

Steps to view live transcription:

Open the Home Screen → Go to the Caller Screen.

From there, you can access the conversation screen to monitor the call in real time as the AI Assistant interacts with the caller.
11. Can the AI Assistant make calls for me?
AI Assistant is designed to handle incoming calls from unknown numbers on your behalf. Currently, it focuses on screening and managing inbound calls.
12. Why am I getting a direct call from an unknown number?
Most of the time, Equal AI will screen your calls smoothly but sometimes a call might ring directly to you due to things outside our control.

Here's why that might happen:
1. Weak internet connection: Equal AI needs a good internet connection to work. If your connection drops or slows down when a call comes in, we'll connect it directly to you so you don't miss it.
2. Multiple calls at once: If you get several calls one after another very quickly, we may connect them directly to make sure nothing urgent gets missed.
3. Dual SIM phones: If the AI Assistant is set up on one SIM but the call comes through on your other SIM, it will ring directly without going through the AI Assistant.
4. Missing permissions: Equal AI needs to be set as your Caller ID app to work properly. If this permission gets turned off, calls won't be screened. You can fix this in Settings by making Equal AI your default Caller ID app.

These situations are rare, but they can occasionally cause a direct ring instead of the AI Assistant handling it first.
13. Will I be notified when the call is going on with the AI Assistant?
Yes, you will receive a notification when an unknown caller contacts you and the AI Assistant answers the call on your behalf.
14. Can I customise what AI Assistant should ask to the unknown caller while handling the call?
Yes, you can customize what the AI Assistant asks while a call is in progress.

Steps to customize messages:

Open the Home Screen → Go to the Caller Screen → Use the Message option.

You can choose from pre-defined messages or type your own custom message, and the AI Assistant will use it during the call.
15. Where can I give the feedback?
You can share your feedback through multiple channels:

1. In-app Feedback: After every call, you will see an option within the app to provide feedback.
2. Google Play Store: you can leave a review and rating on the app’s Play Store page.
3. Customer Support: you can also share your feedback by contacting customer support directly.

16. Why don't I see anything happening after installing the app?
Equal AI works seamlessly in the background. You will only notice activity when an unknown caller contacts you and the AI Assistant steps in to handle the call.
If you’d like to test it immediately, you can use the demo feature. 

Steps to get a demo call:

Open the Home Screen → Tap on “Call Now” (available under “Talk to Your Assistant”).

This will initiate a demo call so you can experience how your AI Assistant handles conversations.
17. How do I know that the AI Assistant is Activated?
You can check the status of your AI Assistant on the home screen If the assistant is OFF, you can simply turn it ON from the home screen to let the AI assistant handle calls.
18. What is "Talk to Your Assistant"?
“Talk to Your Assistant” is a demo feature that allows you to have a test conversation with your AI Assistant. It helps you experience how the assistant handles calls and interacts with callers - so you can understand its behavior and responses before receiving a real call.
19. How can I test Equal AI after installation?
To experience a demo call from your AI assistant, simply tap “Call Now” or “Talk to Your Assistant” on the Home Screen.
20. How is Equal AI different from other call-related apps?
Equal AI uses advanced conversational AI to handle calls naturally, understand context, and make intelligent decisions in real time. Unlike basic call blockers, it can engage in meaningful two-way conversations with callers, adapt to your preferences, and generate clear, detailed summaries for you afterward.
